Industry Leaders Embrace Sustainable Construction Practices in Morocco Bouznika, February 13, 2025 – In response to escalating environmental challenges and increasing water stress, key stakeholders in the Moroccan construction industry are championing sustainable practices as an imperative for future development. On February 13, 2025, LafargeHolcim Maroc, in collaboration with the Moroccan Federation of Consulting and Engineering (FMCI) and the National Federation of Building and Public Works (FNBTP), convened a high-level conference titled “Acte de bâtir durable” to explore innovative, eco-responsible construction solutions. The conference served as a platform for industry experts to deliberate on cutting-edge materials and energy-efficient construction techniques. Emphasizing the urgency of rethinking traditional methods, Khalid Samaka, Director General of LafargeHolcim, remarked, “The mounting pressures of water scarcity and the imperative to preserve natural resources compel us to fundamentally reassess our construction practices. This is not merely an environmental mandate but a strategic shift toward securing a sustainable future.” During the event, Nabil Benazzouz, President of the FMCI, highlighted the pivotal role of consulting and engineering in driving the transformation. Digital Transformation in Construction: A convention involving Building Smart Morocco, FMCI, FNBTP, and the National Council of Architects, this initiative is focused on integrating digital technologies to modernize construction practices and enhance overall efficiency.
