Casablanca – The 22nd International Textile Show “Maroc in Mode” (MIM), held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, kicked off on Wednesday in Casablanca, attended by Moroccan and foreign visitors who came to discover the innovations, collections and cutting-edge technologies in the textile industry.
Initiated by the Moroccan Association of Textile and Clothing Industries (AMITH), in collaboration with CEMS (international shows and congresses organizer), this show, which runs until November 7 under the theme “”Morocco, the Smart Hub for Global Textile,” is a leading event for the future of Moroccan textiles, a showcase of excellence for national know-how and a stepping stone for new international collaborations.
Speaking on this occasion, minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, stated that textile, one of the main job creating fields, with 230,000 direct openings, contributes to bolstering the Kingdom’s industrial sovereignty.
The sector is the 3rd exporter and its overall revenue reaches MAD 63 billion, including MAD 43 billion from exports and MAD 20 billion from the local market, he pointed out.
“The sector has major strategic importance. After having gone through a period of profound crisis, it is now experiencing a tangible relaunch that allowed it to regain its place in the industrial ecosystem,” he maintained.
He added that this momentum is set to contribute to the transition towards a new industrial era, placed under the sign of sovereignty, in line with the High Royal Guidelines, with the objective of stimulating job creation, accelerating decarbonization of the productive fabric, and strengthening the added value of national industry.
A must-attend event for the textile and clothing industry in Africa, MIM 2025 brings together more than 200 exhibitors from Morocco and abroad. Major international contractors and buyers are present to discover Morocco’s potential and explore new partnership opportunities.
With more than 22 countries participating, Casablanca is asserting its role as a strategic hub connecting Europe, Africa, and Asia.
