Several ferry companies resumed services between Tangier and southern Spain on Sunday morning, February 11, 2024, after weather conditions in the Strait of Gibraltar improved.

The Port of Tarifa in Spain announced that it has reopened after being closed for more than a day. Some companies have started operating ferry trips to the Port of Tangier City for passengers.

On the route between the Port of Tangier Med and the Port of Algeciras, most ferries are still operating.

Ferry traffic in the Strait of Gibraltar gradually resumed on Sunday morning after disruptions caused by storms since Thursday evening.

The suspension of ferry services in the Strait of Gibraltar causes significant losses for companies transporting goods and passengers between northern Morocco and southern Spain, especially when the disruption lasts more than two days.
