The commemorative coin features, on the obverse, the effigy of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, along with the inscription “محمد السادس”, the inscription “المملكة المغربية” in Arabic and “ⵜⴰⴳⵍⴷⵉⵜ ⵏ ⵍⵎⵖⵔⵉⴱ” in Tifinagh, as well as the year of issue: “2025 – 1447”.

On the reverse, the coin bears the inscription: “MOROCCO 2025 المغرب,” an artistic representation of Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, topped by the map of Africa, and festive fireworks celebrating the Africa Cup of Nations, in addition to the face value in numerals “250” and Arabic script: “مائتان وخمسون درهما”, the same source adds.

The technical features of the commemorative coin are as follows : Alloy: Silver (925‰) and Copper (75‰) ; Weight: 28.28 grams ; Diameter: 38.61 millimeters ; Edge: Reeded ; Strike: Proof.

In turn, the commemorative banknote illustrates the Kingdom’s commitment to sports and highlights its new sports infrastructure.

The front of the banknote features the portrait of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the coat of arms of the Kingdom, a stylized representation of the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, the map of Africa, a Moroccan arabesque motif, and a stylized football.

The reverse side displays the name of the issuing institution written in both Tifinagh and Latin script, an interior view of the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, stylized silhouettes of players in action, a football decorated with the map of Africa, dynamic stars evoking celebration, as well as a blend of Moroccan arabesques and African motifs.

This banknote incorporates several cutting-edge security features, including a windowed color-shifting effect security thread with dynamic effects, a see-through register, motifs printed in special inks that shift color depending on the viewing angle, motifs with tactile relief for the visually impaired, and micro-texts.

The 100-dirham commemorative banknote, which has legal tender status and the power to discharge from payment obligations, will be issued in limited quantities this Monday, and will circulate concurrently with the 100-dirham notes currently in use.
