Gibraltar’s longstanding cultural ties with Morocco will once again take center stage with the launch of the “A Tale of Two Cities” art exhibition, scheduled for Thursday, April 10th, 2025. The event, organized by Gibraltar Cultural Services on behalf of the Ministry of Culture, is being produced in collaboration with the JM Memorial Foundation.

The official opening of the exhibition will take place at Gallery Kent in Tangier, with the Minister for Culture and Tourism, Christian Santos, presiding over the event. This exhibition promises to be a vibrant and celebratory occasion, featuring the works of seven talented local artists. The artists involved are Aaron Soleci, Ambrose Avellano, Jane Langdon, Karl Ullger, Leslie Gaduzo, Mark Montovio, and Monica Popham, winner of the Sky Arts Landscape of the Year award.

The exhibition will offer a diverse range of styles and mediums, including paintings, sculptures, and textiles. Its aim is to further strengthen the cultural exchange between Gibraltar and Morocco, providing invaluable promotional and networking opportunities for the artists involved. The works on display will showcase contemporary artistic expressions in a variety of forms, such as acrylics, oils, mixed media, ceramics, wood, and metal. Each piece reflects the unique voices and creative visions of the artists, contributing to the ongoing dialogue between these two cities.

The Minister for Equality, Employment, Culture, and Tourism, the Hon. Christian Santos GMD MP, said: “This exchange with Morocco is the perfect platform for our local artists to showcase their talent and make valuable connections. As Minister for Culture, this is exactly the type of opportunity I want to ensure our creatives have access to. My thanks to Gibraltar Cultural Services, the JM Memorial Foundation, and Gallery Kent for organizing and facilitating this event.”

The “A Tale of Two Cities” exhibition will be a highlight of the local and international cultural scene, illustrating the diversity and richness of the artistic exchange between Gibraltar and Morocco.
