The French newspaper Le Figaro has described Tangier in a tourism report as the white city located on the Mediterranean coast in northern Morocco, and the second largest city in the country after Casablanca.

According to the same source, Tangier enjoys a unique strategic location, being only 14 kilometers from Europe, making it the gateway to Africa from Europe.

The French newspaper pointed out the ancient history of Tangier, which was founded 2500 years ago and has a rich and diverse history. The city has been ruled by many civilizations, including the Phoenicians, Romans, Vandals, Arabs, Spaniards, and Portuguese. Each civilization left its mark on the city, resulting in a unique blend of cultures, languages, and architecture.

According to Le Figaro, Tangier also boasts enchanting natural beauty, with its beautiful Mediterranean coast, green mountains, and fertile valleys. The city is also known for its vibrant markets, historical landmarks, and rich arts and culture.

The newspaper reports that in recent years, Tangier has undergone a major transformation. The old city has been renovated and connected to Rabat by the high-speed train (the only one in Africa). This has led to a significant increase in the number of tourists visiting the city.

Despite the recent developments, Tangier has retained its authentic essence. The city remains vibrant and lively, with a unique blend of old and new. Tangier is a global destination rich in history, culture, and natural beauty, according to the French newspaper.
