Morocco, Ghana Discuss Transport and Logistics Cooperation in Rabat

Aljiha Post

Rabat – Morocco and Ghana held talks on Friday in Rabat to explore ways to strengthen cooperation in transport and logistics, with a focus on air connectivity, maritime transport, and academic exchange, Morocco’s Ministry of Transport and Logistics said.

The meeting brought together Moroccan Transport Minister Abdessamad Kayouh and Ghanaian Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, in the presence of Ghana’s ambassador to Morocco, Charity Gbedawo. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing South-South cooperation.

Kayouh highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects in Morocco and welcomed Ghanaian business interest in engaging with stakeholders. He also stressed the importance of academic cooperation, particularly in maritime and aviation training, as well as efforts to boost air links between Casablanca and Accra.

Ablakwa noted that Royal Air Maroc plans to increase direct flights to Ghana to a daily service and welcomed the recent launch of an online travel authorization mechanism aimed at easing mobility between the two countries.

He also discussed transport infrastructure projects in Ghana, including road expansion in the north and west, the revival of Ghana Airways, and plans to upgrade ports in partnership with Morocco.
