*Rabat – Morocco has officially entered the 5G era with the simultaneous roll out of ultra-high-speed networks on Friday by its three main operators, marking a milestone in the country’s digital transformation.
As of today, 5G coverage spans the country, powered by Inwi, Orange Maroc, and Maroc Telecom. With ultra-low latency, video calls are becoming smoother, gaming more immersive, and connected devices more responsive, unlocking new features for both personal and professional use.
In a press release, Inwi says its network connection enables instant transfer and sharing of files, designs, and videos, regardless of their size, paving the way for an outstanding user experience with innovative usage. The technology will cover Morocco’s major cities upon its launch.
The 18 million-user operator says that its minimal latency ensures online meetings with unprecedented realism and real-time responsiveness across professional tools. For mobile customers, inwi 5G is available without any change of their SIM card and at no additional cost, it points out.
For its part, Orange says in a press release that “upon its launch, more than a hundred Moroccan cities already benefit from 5G coverage,” with progressive expansion planned across the entire national territory.
The operator is also strengthening international connectivity by linking Europe and Africa through its high-capacity submarine cables, further positioning Morocco as a true regional digital hub.
The operator places special focus on connectivity and environmental duty, allowing an optimal connectivity that significantly decreases its carbon footprint – a commitment “towards a more sustainable digital future,” it stresses.
For Maroc Telecom, a leading technology operator, 5G paves the way for new uses beyond performance, like augmented reality, real-time online gaming and telemedicine.
“The deployment of 5G is based on the massive investments made by Maroc Telecom in its telecommunications infrastructure over the past few years,” it says in a press release.
The Group has modernized its mobile and fixed networks, strengthened the capacity of its transmission platforms, and deployed next-generation infrastructure connecting the entire country.
