Rabat – Strengthening cooperation in the field of employment was at the heart of discussions held Wednesday in Rabat between Morocco’s Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, Younes Sekkouri, and Iraq’s Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Jassem Saber Al-Asadi.
These talks provided an opportunity to consolidate the partnership mechanisms linking the two brotherly countries and to explore new avenues of institutional cooperation in areas such as economic inclusion, entrepreneurship, and training efforts aimed at tackling common labor market challenges and supporting the renewed momentum in Morocco–Iraq relations.
Following the meeting, Sekkouri stated that the encounter reflects the strength of bilateral relations between the two countries, which are based on shared political will and strategic vision guiding their cooperation.
The topics discussed covered strategic areas such as the exchange of skills, transfer of expertise, economic openness, and diversification of partnerships, he added.
The Minister also announced that the discussions resulted in an agreement to draft new cooperation frameworks in the coming weeks, aimed at strengthening bilateral coordination in the area of employment. He emphasized the importance of mutual benefit from both Moroccan and Iraqi experiences in this field.
For his part, Al-Asadi praised the concrete progress achieved by the Kingdom of Morocco in various social and economic sectors under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
He affirmed that Iraq gives special importance on deepening its cooperative ties with Morocco, particularly in the areas of economic inclusion and human resource development.
The Iraqi Minister also expressed his country’s interest in benefiting from Morocco’s experience in vocational training and professional development, noting that discussions included ways to facilitate and strengthen the mobility of professionals between the two countries.
