Addis Ababa – The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amine Tahraoui, held talks on Saturday in Addis Ababa with Françoise Vanni, Director of External Relations and Communications at the Global Fund.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the Global Fund to thank Morocco for its support during the Fund’s 8th replenishment, and to highlight the exemplary, long-standing partnership between the Kingdom and the Fund, particularly in the fight against HIV and tuberculosis.
The Global Fund also expressed its pride in the quality of cooperation with Morocco, particularly in terms of equity and the transition toward mobilizing national resources.
Talks also enabled both parties to discuss strengthening bilateral collaboration, notably through a Global Fund mission to the Kingdom to showcase results and consolidate programs in order to continue implementing this long-standing bilateral partnership.
This also includes participation in working groups on procurement mechanisms and supply chains, following a South-South cooperation approach and aiming to strengthen health sovereignty.
Emphasis was also placed on the importance of directing investments toward innovation, R&D, and technology transfer in Morocco as a regional hub
