Rabat – ProSocial Artificial Intelligence (PSAI) is now standing out as a lever for human development, said international AI researcher Dr. Cornelia C. Walther on Friday in Rabat, as a technology heralding the advent of a new form of cognition based on Hybrid Intelligence.
During a meeting on Prosocial AI, organized by the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) and the UN Information Center in Rabat, C. Walther explained that Prosocial AI is the conceptual framework allowing for the construction of AI systems aligned with human dignity, noting that PSAI is based on four critical requirements.
Artificial intelligence must be “tailored” to reality, “trained” on data sets that ensure fair representation, “tested” to measure real social impact, and “geared” toward the common good and the planet, she detailed.
Dr. Walther, a renowned scientist in the fields of systemic intelligence, neuroscience and AI ethics, pointed out that AI was originally created by humans to serve humanity, arguing the necessity now to rethink the reasons behind its “use and clarify its ultimate purpose.”
The researcher emphasized that this approach involves investing in human intelligence and envisioning a future based on hybrid intelligence. This is based on the complementarity between Natural Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence, a model that, in her view, requires “dual literacy.”
With regards to the scope of ProSocial AI, Dr. Walther explained that it aims to transform technology into a positive environment-conscious catalyst for human beings.
