Taghazout Bay Expands Hospitality Capacity and Launches Vibrant Summer 2025 Program

Aljiha Post

Taghazout Bay, a flagship integrated tourism destination in the Souss-Massa region of Morocco, is entering a new phase of development with the addition of 1,400 new beds by next year, aiming to further solidify its position as a key driver of sustainable tourism and regional economic growth.

Currently offering 3,400 beds across seven internationally renowned hotel brands—including Hilton, RIU, Hyatt, Radisson, and Fairmont—the resort is preparing to welcome an additional 900 beds this summer through Radisson Blu Residences. These units are part of a Residential Real Estate for Tourism Promotion (RIPT) initiative, comprising around 200 serviced apartments operated under hotel standards. A further expansion is set for 2026 with the opening of a Marriott hotel (500 beds), bringing the station’s total capacity to 4,800 beds.

“We are moving toward our target of hosting 300,000 tourists annually by enhancing both accommodation infrastructure and year-round entertainment offerings,” said representatives of SAPST (Société d’Aménagement et de Promotion de la Station de Taghazout) during a media briefing held on June 20.

Economic Impact and Sustainable Development
Taghazout Bay represents a key investment in Morocco’s long-term tourism strategy, focused on ecological responsibility and diversified experiences—beach, sport, culture, and gastronomy. The development model promotes harmonious growth through a mix of public-private partnerships, infrastructure expansion, and high-end hospitality services.

The station plays an increasing role in job creation and local economic stimulation, with the hospitality and service sectors benefitting from rising visitor numbers. Domestic tourists now represent up to 40% of activity in some hotels, alongside a growing international clientele from France, the UK, Germany, and Belgium.

Summer 2025 Programming: Culture, Cuisine, and Entertainment
To attract both domestic and international tourists, Taghazout Bay has launched a robust summer 2025 calendar of events:

June 19–22: The “IMI’TASTE” Moroccan Chefs Festival at Hyatt Place, showcasing 25 Moroccan chefs including Kamal Rahal, Khadija Bensdira, and Myriam Ettahiri.

July 25–27: TaghaMusic Festival featuring a blend of Moroccan and international music acts such as Dystinct, L’Algérino, Tawsen, and Rym.

August: A mixed program with two seaside concerts, comedy shows, an immersive cinema experience, and sporting activities.

December 2025: The station will host celebrations themed around the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2025), with four teams staying onsite.

Building Momentum Through Year-Round Events
Taghazout Bay has already established a strong momentum in 2025 with multiple high-profile events:

February: World Bodyboard Championship (2nd edition) and Pro Taghazout Bay Surf Competition (3rd edition).

April–May: Xperienza Festival (1,500 attendees), TaghaComedy stand-up night, and a special edition of TaghaMusic in tribute to Edith Piaf.

A Growing Hub for Tourism Investment in Morocco
As the project nears completion of its key phases, Taghazout Bay is emerging as a benchmark for sustainable tourism and regional economic vitality. With its expanding infrastructure, diversified offerings, and strong focus on quality, the destination is poised to attract further investment and increase Morocco’s competitiveness in the global tourism market.
