The city of Casablanca hosted a landmark event on December 19, 2024, organized by the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) under the theme “Sustainable Startup Ecosystems: The Way Forward for Morocco”. Held at the Technopark Casablanca, the event highlighted Morocco’s ambitions to accelerate its digital transformation.

Speaking at the event, Hajar El-Haddawi, Deputy Secretary-General of the DCO, emphasized the organization’s pivotal role in fostering global digital transformation. El-Haddawi explained that the DCO aims to help member states enhance their digital economies by addressing technological and economic challenges that hinder innovation and growth.
“Our mission is not only to promote collaboration among member states but also to create tangible economic impact by boosting GDP and generating new employment opportunities,” said El-Haddawi. Idriss El-Majjaouri, Director of Digital Ecosystems and Entrepreneurship at the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, expressed Morocco’s enthusiasm for its partnership with the DCO.
“Joining this organization strengthens our mutual cooperation with other member states while promoting economic and financial inclusivity,” said El-Majjaouri. He described Morocco as a “startup” in its strategic approach to digital transformation, driven by a clear vision and ambitious plans for the future.
