In a global context marked by market volatility and mounting climate pressures, the International Agricultural Show in Morocco (SIAM 2026), held in Meknes, stands out as more than a traditional industry gathering. It is emerging as a strategic platform to rethink and secure the future of Moroccan agriculture.
This 18th edition, themed “Sustainable livestock production and food sovereignty,” reflects a clear shift in agricultural priorities. The focus is no longer solely on increasing output, but on ensuring long-term resilience amid water scarcity and rising production costs.
Across the exhibition grounds, economic challenges intersect with technological innovation. Smart farming solutions—driven by IoT, data analytics, and digital tools—are taking center stage, signaling a transition toward more efficient and climate-resilient agricultural systems.
Livestock production remains a central concern, facing significant strain from drought, herd reduction, and price inflation. These pressures are accelerating discussions on structural reforms and the modernization of value chains.
With strong international participation, SIAM reinforces Morocco’s role as a regional agricultural hub and a key player in South-South cooperation, particularly in knowledge exchange and food security strategies.
More than a showcase, SIAM has become a policy laboratory where the contours of a new agricultural model are taking shape—one built on sustainability, innovation, and sovereignty.
