Marrakech – Marrakech-Menara Airport removed, on Friday, the inspection devices, scanners, and security gates at the entrances, allowing travelers faster access to the airport and a smoother arrival process without long queues.

This improvement was achieved thanks to the mobilization of various airport security authorities, including the Interior Ministry, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), and the Royal Gendarmerie, whose coordinated efforts helped redesign the security screening system while maintaining strict safety standards.

On this occasion, the director of Marrakech-Menara Airport, Nawal Mounir, emphasized that the National Airports Office (ONDA) has optimized space and passenger flow management by reorganizing control areas and increasing waiting capacity upon arrival.

Additional human resources and equipment reinforcements have also been deployed to ensure fast and efficient service, she said in a press briefing, noting that these measures have significantly reduced waiting times, now averaging less than an hour.

She further highlighted that several additional projects are planned, including the reorganization of the departure area and the installation of new management systems to reduce waiting times to just 30 minutes, further improving passenger flow and satisfaction.

Plans also include the implementation of E-Gates, the addition of a new hall, and the introduction of new boarding gates, she added.
