The closing ceremony of the fifth edition of the joint Morocco–Singapore–Sub-Saharan Africa Capacity Building Program was held in Rabat on Friday, chaired by Ambassador Mohamed Methqal, Director General of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI).

Organized jointly by the AMCI and the Singapore Cooperation Programme (SCP), this year’s initiative focused on “Supply Chain Management.” Held in Rabat from July 6 to 10, 2026, the program brought together 22 directors and senior officials from 13 African nations, including Cameroon, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Tanzania, and Zambia.

The initiative is part of a triangular cooperation framework established between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Singapore aimed at strengthening African capabilities. The partnership falls in line with the vision of HM King Mohammed VI, which places South-South cooperation, African solidarity, the exchange of expertise, and human development at the center of the Kingdom’s international policy

Throughout the week, participants engaged in knowledge-sharing sessions and conducted field visits to several partner institutions in Morocco, including the Moroccan Agency for Logistics Development (AMDL), Tanger Med, Marsa Maroc, and PORTNET. Discussions centered on logistics planning, port infrastructure modernization, the digitalization of foreign trade procedures, operational performance enhancement, and the development of integrated logistics ecosystems.

The program also served as a showcase for the expertise developed by Morocco, Singapore, and the participating African nations in logistics, connectivity, trade facilitation, and value chain integration.

Beyond its technical focus, this fifth edition provided a platform for dialogue, the exchange of best practices, and the consolidation of professional networks among African officials tasked with modernizing public policies related to supply chains.

The initiative underscores the success of the Morocco–Singapore partnership and highlights the effectiveness of triangular cooperation as an operational tool to strengthen institutional capacities and promote sustainable, inclusive, and resilient development across Africa.
