Rabat – Morocco’s tourism sector continues its remarkable growth trajectory, with the Kingdom welcoming more than 7.7 million tourists by the end of May 2026, representing a 7% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
The figures highlight Morocco’s growing attractiveness as a leading international destination and reflect the success of national efforts aimed at strengthening the tourism industry through improved air connectivity, diversified tourism offerings, and enhanced visitor experiences.
In May alone, Morocco received approximately 1.7 million tourists, marking a significant 13% increase compared to May 2025. This strong performance comes ahead of the peak summer season and confirms the sustained momentum of the sector.
Industry observers attribute this growth to the implementation of ambitious tourism strategies focused on expanding international flight routes, attracting new airlines, and promoting Morocco in both traditional and emerging tourism markets.
Major investments in tourism infrastructure across cities such as Marrakesh, Tangier, Agadir, Casablanca, and Fez have also contributed to improving service quality and enhancing Morocco’s competitiveness on the global tourism market.
According to Moroccan tourism authorities, these results demonstrate the effectiveness of the country’s tourism roadmap, which aims to position Morocco among the world’s most attractive destinations while creating jobs and stimulating economic growth.
Morocco is also preparing to capitalize on major international events, particularly the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which is expected to further boost tourism flows and strengthen the Kingdom’s international visibility.
As global tourism continues to recover, Morocco is increasingly establishing itself as a strategic destination at the crossroads of Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, offering visitors a unique blend of culture, history, nature, and modern infrastructure.
