In a statement to the press, Baraka noted that this meeting was an opportunity to exchange experiences between the two countries in the field of water management, while highlighting the achievements of bilateral cooperation in this strategic sector.
He further stated that discussions focused on developing a joint roadmap by leveraging Finnish expertise, particularly in flood management, smart groundwater management, and wastewater treatment and reuse, especially in urban and industrial settings.
In this context, the minister spoke of the importance of applied research and innovation in reinforcing this cooperation, noting that joint efforts will be undertaken to promote the exchange of successful experiences between the two countries.
For her part, Essayah praised the quality of the discussions with her Moroccan counterpart, noting that the meeting had helped identify several areas of mutual interest, particularly in the fields of water management, research, and innovation.
In this regard, she commended the progress made by Morocco in this field, expressing her admiration for the Kingdom’s efforts to address the challenges related to water management.
The Finnish minister also noted that her country, a pioneer in this sector, aspires to develop cooperation with Morocco, expressing confidence in the prospects for a fruitful partnership.
This meeting is part of Essayah’s visit to the Kingdom from March 24 to 27, accompanied by senior officials from various ministries, to explore opportunities for cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
