This declaration, signed during a meeting organized by the Digital Agriculture Hub in partnership with the Confédération Marocaine de l’Agriculture et du Développement Rural, on the sidelines of the 18th Salon International de l’Agriculture au Maroc (SIAM), seeks to strengthen cooperation between the two departments in integrating artificial intelligence into the agricultural sector.
Speaking on the occasion, El Bouari stated that this step paves the way for the ministry to join the Al-Jazari Institutes, a national network of centers of excellence in artificial intelligence.
“Agriculture cannot meet future challenges without accelerating its digital transformation,” he said, emphasizing the importance of boosting competitiveness and enhancing support for farmers in the face of climate challenges and pressure on resources.
For her part, Seghrouchni explained that this joint declaration will help explore new digital avenues to design smart solutions capable of adding value to the digital economy applied to agriculture.
She reaffirmed her department’s commitment to supporting and strengthening cooperation toward AI-driven agriculture, highlighting the convergence of priorities between the two departments around sector digitalization.
Seghrouchni underscored the ministry’s role in developing tools to support digital and AI-driven transformations, including providing data centers, software development platforms, and data factories for Moroccan administrations.
On the sidelines of the meeting, four winning projects of the Agri-Food Hackathon “Agriculture in the Digital Age” were awarded. The first prize went to “CoopNak,” a sesame valorization solution aimed at developing innovative food and cosmetic products. The second prize was awarded to “Agripack” for its solution optimizing traceability and logistics through eco-friendly packaging and smart inventory management.
The third prize was jointly awarded to “Filaha Tech,” an agricultural management platform using drones and intelligent data analysis, and “Nidae Douar,” a collective alert system designed to limit the spread of fungal diseases in farms.
Additionally, two partnership agreements were signed by the Digital Agriculture Hub under the Ministry of Agriculture with COMADER and CDG Invest.
Held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the 18th SIAM runs until April 28 under the theme: “Sustainability of Animal Production and Food Sovereignty.”
