The Tangier City Port Development and Management Company has officially launched the marketing of the second phase of Tangier Marina Bay International, following the completion of new mooring facilities.
The announcement was made during a ceremony held at the marina, alongside the opening of its Open Days. The event welcomes Tangier residents, families, boat and yacht owners, investors, maritime professionals, economic partners, and media representatives.
Following the complete marketing of the first phase, the new extension provides additional berthing capacity for medium-sized and large recreational vessels, as well as luxury yachts. The facilities meet high standards of service quality and environmental performance, further strengthening Tangier Marina Bay’s position as a modern, prestigious, and sustainable maritime destination.
The project also includes new high-value commercial kiosks allocated to investors, particularly young entrepreneurs. These spaces are expected to enhance the attractiveness of the marina, stimulate local economic activity, and create new business and employment opportunities.
Mohamed Ouanaya, Chairman and CEO of Tangier City Port, confirmed that construction work on the second phase had been completed and that its marketing was now officially underway.
He explained that the new phase is mainly intended for medium-sized and large leisure vessels. He also stressed the importance of Tangier Marina Bay in enhancing the city’s appeal and developing its maritime tourism sector.
According to Ouanaya, the Open Days are more than a recreational event. They reflect a shared ambition to transform the marina into a lively and inclusive space, open to Tangier’s residents and visitors while contributing to the city’s national and international visibility.
The three-day programme includes guided visits to the marina’s facilities, maritime and family activities, concerts, artistic performances, a dedicated children’s area, and awareness workshops focusing on maritime professions and environmental protection. Visitors can also meet the marina’s commercial teams and partners.
This new milestone comes as Tangier Marina Bay has raised the Blue Flag for the third consecutive year, recognising its strengthened environmental management system, including selective waste collection and environmental awareness initiatives.
The marina was also awarded the prestigious AIVP Antoine Rufenacht Prize for its role in the redevelopment of Tangier’s city-port area and in promoting sustainable integration between the city and its waterfront.
Tangier Marina Bay International is one of the flagship achievements of the Tangier City Port redevelopment project, carried out under the leadership of King Mohammed VI. The project aims to transform the city’s waterfront into a major tourism, leisure, and investment hub while strengthening Tangier’s national and international profile.
